Georgia Shenk
Intro
Hi hi hi hi! How was your week? Did you get good feedback on that thing you were doing? I hope your projects are coming along and that you’re making progress where you need to. Have some coffee and a scone and get some work done. You can do it.
It doesn’t happen often, but I actually had a really great week, productivity-wise. I got several pieces of great news, that I’m terribly excited about. It’s always interesting to think that we spend months working on things, and planting these seeds, and trying to get things to happen, and then suddenly Boom! A lot of good news happens all at once. I hope we all get weeks like that at some point, they feel really nice and make the stress of it all worthwhile. Here’s a photo of a woman flexing while wearing a cape.

Georgia Shenk
Wow. Can you even believe that we haven’t discussed Georgia Shenk yet? She is a comedy writer, satirist, and illustrator, and she specializes in writing late nite format comedy. Recently, Georgia was brought on as a headline contributor for Reductress, which is really dope. She has one of the funniest Twitter feeds of anyone I follow and that alone, should be enough for you to go follow her.

Georgia is a grad of the Second City Late Night, Sketch, and Satire programs and has trained with the PIT’s Ali Farahnakian on SNL Sketch Packet. She also trained with Late Night With Seth Meyers’ Jenny Hagel at the Late Night Writers Workshop. She consistently works on late night packets (which you should read if you can!) and she’s also getting into stand-up, so look out for her Netflix special, which she’ll no doubt have by the end of the year. Georgia will be featured on an upcoming episode of the Riff Raff Revolution podcast, which you should follow and subscribe to.

News Brief I guess
This probably happens every year, but in the past week or so, I’ve noticed a few celebrities in the news buying school supplies for teachers and I think it’s great! USWNT player, Allie Long did a shoutout on Twitter asking for NYC teachers to send links to their wishlists, and she took care of it for them! And Lady Gaga is apparently funding 160 classroom projects in El Paso, TX!
I wish celebrities and people with a lot of money would do this more! There is so much good we could all do in the world, if we all pitched in and did it together! Also why do we have to rely on celebrities to pay for teachers’ school supplies? What does the government even do anymore? Where are our tax dollars actually going? This is a rabbit hole I don’t have the energy to go down today!
