Jamie Watson
Hey, hi and hello! The heat finally broke and the weather is much nicer lately. Did you stay cool through it all? I hope you’re staying hydrated - that’s very important.
Anytime I have any sort of health or wellness ailment, my first response is to drink water. This is not a paid post, but I like to use the app, ‘Waterlogged’ to help me keep track of how much water I’m consuming. It’s very helpful just to know, “Oh, I’m incredibly hydrated, so there must be another reason my body hates me today.” Anyway, here’s a photo of some water with fruit in it.
Jamie Watson
I’m goshdarn pumped to introduce you to Jamie Watson today. Jamie is a very talented improvisor and comedic actress - we met while doing summer stock theater a few years ago and I can assure you Jamie is a goddam delight. She performs all over the city at venues including Brooklyn Comedy Collective, The PIT, and Pine Box Rock Shop. Jamie is on sketch team, LISA, who does monthly shows (and dance party!) at Under St. Marks. Her improv team, A Crazy Amazing Friendship broadcasts a live radio show every Sunday on KPISS.fm
You might also recognize Jamie from the Sprint commercials where she’s played the Sprintern for a little over a year. She also works with Story Pirates, which is a great organization full of comedians and actors who turn kid’s stories into awesome school sketch shows. At the end of summer, Jamie starts filming a web series that she is also writing and producing. The series will explore funny ladies who are joining the heavily male improv world (can relate!) Anyway, Jamie is very busy but very cool and you should keep an eye out for her! Check out some of her other work here!

News Brief I guess
I’m a week or two late on the uptake with this one, but I’m still very excited for all of the Emmy nominees - especially the shows created and lead by women. Russain doll is sweeping the nominations, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, GLOW, and Fleabag were both heavily featured. Big shoutout to Gwenoline Christie, who was not submitted by HBO, so she submitted herself to secure the nomination. And the web series ‘An Emmy For Megan’ by Megan Amram was nominated for a few (which makes me very happy!!!)
I love seeing the work celebrated, but my absolute favorite part of the nominations being released, were the tweets posted by first-time nominees. What an inspiring thing to see! I don’t have any of those tweets to show you because I don’t plan ahead, but if you are a writer, I hope you were lucky enough to catch some of them!
