Megan Broussard & Michelle Drozdick
Hi! Welcome! Yikes, it seems like the peak July heat arrived very all of a sudden. Come sit in the shade and have a glass of tea. It’s nice here, and you have to keep hydrated.
I spent nearly the whole day yesterday outdoors, in 90 degree weather, and it was very hot, but sort of lovely? Is this what people mean when they say they love the outdoors? I don’t know, but I drank a lot of water and didn’t want to die, so that’s a start.
I also learned that Forrest Park in Queens is very lovely. Here’s a picture of it that someone else took.
Megan Broussard
I’m so excited to talk to you all about Megan Broussard today! She is a writer and producer based in New York. She focuses on humor, satire, essays, screenwriting, and short stories, and has produced for AMC, Vox, truTV, and Investigation Discovery. She’s studied comedy at UCB, Second City, and the People’s Improv Theater, and asked me to let you know she is definitely NOT ex-congressman Weiner’s Internet Mistress - with whom she shares a name (the story is thrilling as hell though.)
She also runs the instagram @bropowerpose dedicated to bros striking power poses in the wild (this is 100% A+ content!) Megan was also very recently published in McSweeney’s and her piece is dope. You can read it here! (I really hope you do read it, it’s very good.) You can also view some of her other work on The Rumpus, The Belladonna Comedy, Points In Case, Weekly Humorist, Bustle, and more.

Michelle Drozdick
Hang on to your fucking heads because Michelle Drozdick’s comedy is some of the coolest, quirkiest shit I’ve ever seen. She is a comedian, writer and actor that focuses on the surreal. She does a lot of solo comedy and just wrapped a two year run of her solo improvised show “The Gimmick and You” She also does a show called “Message in a Bottle” - a dark but comedic look at alcoholism through the lens of a woman dating an actual bottle of vodka.
Michelle is also launching “Ducky” - the tale of rubber ducks that come to life and have to face what it means to be self-aware - at the Tank in September. She’s on a lot of improv teams: most specifically, “Kermit’s Flailing Arms” a twoprov team that performs heartwarming fever dream fairy tales. I’ve also personally seen Michelle do soloprov before and it’s pretty wild; definitely check it out.

News Brief I guess
Listen, ok, I know I talked about the USWNT last week and if you follow my Twitter, you’ll know I’ve tweeted nothing except USWNT content since then. But let me just say, they celebrated by drinking continuously for at least five days straight, and that’s the kind of commitment I can really get behind.
You want to talk about a group of people in peak physical form, just openly being drunk for nearly a full week straight? I love it. By the time the ESPY’s rolled around Thursday night they all had sunglasses on because I’m certain they were all still wasted. I love it. Kelly O’Hara begging for beer during the parade and running to hug fans when they brought it to her at 9am? I LOVE IT.
Long story short, they earned it, and Ashlyn Harris’ insta stories deserve several Emmy’s.
