Megan Sweet & Dianne Gebauer
Hi, good morning, good afternoon, and hello! Happy Labor Day Weekend! I hope you have a nice long weekend ahead of you, but if you have to work, I hope you will at least get overtime and that your boss buys your lunch. All bosses should buy more lunch. It’s a little crazy to think this is the “last weekend of summer” Where did the time even go?
I have to admit, I’m a little sad summer is ending. Fall is nice, but summer is ~s~u~m~m~e~r~ you feel? So enjoy the last few bbq’s and the warm weekends we have left. Here’s an image of a nice cook out. I hope any food you make this weekend looks this artisanal!
Megan Sweet
You guys, Megan Sweet might be one of the coolest people we’ve ever featured. She is a comedian and writer based in Brooklyn and recently completed the Comedy Studies program at The Second City through Columbia College Chicago. She’s also held various behind-the-scenes roles for TV; currently she’s working on The Patriot Act with Hasan Minaj. She’s also worked with Late Nite with Seth Meyers, Broad City, and various MTV Programming. In 2018, she had her Tonight Show debut as “Hannah” in a segment with Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon, which is pretty freaking cool.
Megan is trained in sketch writing, acting, improv, comedic songwriting and standup. She is currently starring in a two-woman sketch show called “Table For Two” at the People’s Improv Theatre, which she cowrote with her writing partner. This fall Megan is performing in the She Makes Me Laugh Festival in NYC (deets below!) You can find her doing stand up around the city, and her writing has been featured on The Belladonna Comedy, Little Old Lady Comedy, and Hellogiggles. You can see one of her incredible sketches here and can get more information about her writing and sketches here. Megan sounds very busy and also like someone you should keep an eye out for because she’s clearly going places.

Dianne Gebauer
Have you all met Dianne Gebauer yet? Because if you haven’t you need to. Dianne is a freelance writer, editor and comedian based in New York. After taking classes at the Manhattan Comedy School, Dianne started doing stand-up. She’s hosted the Sorry, Just Saw This podcast with Emi Dammers since December 2018. Dianne is currently developing a sitcom called Two Anxious Bisexuals with Marie Incontrera, which I absolutely want to see and/or read.
The Sorry, Just Saw this podcast drops every Friday - you should give it a listen and check out more about it here. You can also see some of Dianne’s writing samples here. Dianne is a self-described “Ravenclaw with Hufflepuff tendencies, I'm usually overly caffeinated, super anxious, and spend far too much time doing stupid things on the internet,” and in that way, I think she and I would get along swimmingly. Check out more of her work and keep an eye out for Dianne around the city!

News Brief I Guess
I’m going to get back on the women’s soccer train for a moment and I will not apologize for it. This week I went to a USWNT game in Philadelphia, and had the most fun that is possible for one human to have. Truly, if you ever have a chance to go to one of their games, I highly encourage it. The crowd is very supportive, very loving toward the players, and will suddenly start chanting “Equal Pay!” at any given time. It’s incredible.
At one point The Wave started, and I muttered to myself, “sports are so damn stupid,” then I stood up and participated enthusiastically. Anyway, I’m new to sports, but women’s soccer is really fun to watch. They’re still fighting for equal pay, so it’s just a good thing to support and put good energy towards. Also, NWSL games stream for free on Yahoo Sports, so look into that if you’re interested; I say again, they’re very fun to watch. That is all.
Equal pay for equal play, baby.
