Sarah White
Hi! This week has been a real doozy, eh? But it’s nice and cozy here and I’ve curated a supportive energy. So come on in, get out of the heat, and relax with your comedy friends. This week marks our first whole month together! We’ve all gotten to know eight cool comedians that I am proud to have featured. If you missed any of them, feel free to check them out. I promise, they’re all worth getting to know!
It’s officially summer-time now. Which means it’s the season I constantly carry cash in the event that I come across an ice cream truck. It’s a silly thing, but life is hard, so treat yourself to a goddam ice cream cone once in a while. One time, I turned a corner on a very busy street, saw an ice cream truck and shouted “YUMM!” at full volume. I was twenty-six years old.
Sarah White
I’m so pumped to introduce you all to Sarah White! She’s a satire and sketch writer based in LA and she’s cool as hell. She trained in sketch at UCB Los Angeles, and her satire work has been featured in Reductress, The Belladonna, Points in Case, Slackjaw, and Robot Butt. A quick google search of her work brings up some of the funniest articles I’ve ever read. Like this Belladonna post, for example.
Sarah also has a real penchant for nonsense Instagram stories, such as “Trip to a high school production of Little Shop of Horrors.” She loves to roast terrible boyfriends of the world, which I think is an undervalued skill in 2019. Her most recent sketch, “DIY Birth Control” (on Twitter, Youtube, and IGTV), was a harrowing and cringe-funny look at a future in response to the recent abortion bans. It was used to bring awareness and raise money for relevant organizations. You can watch it here, and honestly - kudos to Sarah! The world needs more of this right now.

News Brief, I Guess
I do not do sports. But did you know the Women’s World Cup is going on? Did you know the US Women’s National Team is killing it? Did you know the US Women’s team is historically much better than the Men’s team? Did you know the Women’s National Team has five out queer players? All of these things are true and important!
Long story short: the Women’s team is on fire, their owning the field during Pride is exceptional, and the Women’s World Cup is much more interesting than the men’s and people should be equally (if not more) excited to watch it. Sports.
